Alexandra Maria Lara has been a Romanian/German television and film actress for a long time. Alexandra is well-known for her the roles she played in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. The actress was born as the only son of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. In her early teens, Alexandra played the leading character in various TV dramas. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including that of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge in the commercially and critically profitable Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were both nominated for Oscars. Alexandra's career has seen her participate in several important national and international projects. A few of them include the British biographical film Control, Greek drama movie The Dust of Time, as well as the French historical miniseries Napoleon. Also, she was in the jury panel of the Transylvania International Film Festival, as well as at the Cannes Film Festival.
